Who is the shipper?

The definition of shipper given in MSC.1/Circ.1475 means a legal entity or person named on the bill of lading or sea waybill or equivalent multimodal transport document, and/or a contract of carriage has been concluded with a shipping company. If a freight forwarder or forwarding agent, act as a principle and the consolidator, and their name is named in the bill of lading, they become the shipper.

 

Shippers are required to determine the method used for obtaining the accurate gross mass based on the guidelines given by MSC.1/Circ.1475 and to submit a complete company’s registration application to Marine Department before 1st June 2016.  The amendment to SOLAS Regulation VI/2, which states the requirement for verified gross mass of a container carrying cargo, will come into force on 1st July 2016.  Pls advise your shipper to register or if you also act as a shipper, please register with Jabatan Laut Malaysia accordingly before 1st June 2016.

China (Shenzhen) - Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference 2016 (26-5-2016)

 

In order to implement the “One Belt and One Road” development strategy and promote the trade and economic relationship and cooperation between China Shenzhen Municipality and Malaysia, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (KLSCCCI) in collaboration with Economy, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality will organise the “China (Shenzhen)- Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference”  on 26th May 2016 (Thursday), 2.30 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom of InterContinental Hotel.

 

Deputy Secretary of Guangdong Province and Secretary of Shenzhen Municipality, Mr. Ma Xingrui will attend the Conference and deliver a speech. This Conference is supported by Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, Malaysia-China Business Council and the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM). They are interested to establish relationship and cooperation with local industries and businesses.
