佛光山东禅寺是大马佛教发展的人文重镇与一所结合传统丛林和现代化的丛林寺院。
Since its establishment in 1967, Fo Guang Shan has become a pure land on earth under the guidance of Master Hsing Yun, with the hard work of the disciples and the support of the devotees.

这所寺院为星云大师所创办，倡导“人间佛教”和秉持“以文化弘扬佛法、以教育培养人才、以慈善富利社会、以共修净化人心”的宗旨。它占地面积达16英亩，拥有各项建设包括大雄宝殿、修持中心、佛光缘美术馆、大讲堂、大斋堂、禅堂、试听教室、会议室、抄经堂、滴水坊、寮房及东禅佛教学院。禅寺环境清幽、肃穆雄伟，接引了无数社区村民乃至全国各地信众前来参观乃至佛教修行。

一踏进寺院，您首先会看到18尊石刻的罗汉相貌以欢喜含笑、怒目严肃等不同的姿态和神韵立于走道两旁，像是在欢迎您的到来。接着来到“蓝毗尼园”，一个为纪念释迦牟尼佛的诞生地而设的小园。园内栽有近百种花草树木，并有七宝池、琉璃塔、云水厅和莲花池。再来，您会看见33尊可爱的小沙弥身处于大型盆栽景观与各种颜色的花海之中，非常动人!随后，参观重新装璜的大雄宝殿或称成佛大道，里边供奉一尊高18尺、铜塑的释迦牟尼佛，手结说法印，趺跏端坐金刚宝座。此外，殿内两旁有八幅浮雕的佛陀八相成道图，栩栩如生，细述佛陀的一生。除此之外，您也可以参访周围清幽的建设。

The eighteen Arhats area situated right after the main gate welcomes visitors with the unique and lively stone sculptures of the Eighteen Arhats, followed by the Happy Buddha who brings happiness. Later is the Lumbini Garden is a commemoration of the birthplace of Sakyamuni Buddha. The main attraction in the garden is the “One Stop One Lotus” which is a lifelike animatronics figure of Prince Siddharta. Besides, there are flowerbeds, walking path, tress and bushes, a lapis lazuli tower, a lotus pond and a small bridge which form a serene place to relax. You are able to see 33 statues of young novice monks with adorable appearance situated in the midst of colourful flowers. Continue visit to the newly renovated main shrine contains a Buddha statue with a height of 18 feet and a weight of 7 tonnes. Both side of the walls exhibit 8 pieces of pictures depicting the life of the Buddha.
